Premier League giants Manchester United announced a new shirt sponsor on Friday, with German software company TeamViewer taking over the prime advertising spot from auto company Chevrolet.

The partnership agreement begins with the 2021-22 Premier League season.

TeamViewer produces remote access, remote control and remote support solutions for clients around the world. Currently, TeamViewer software is installed on more than 2.5 billion devices worldwide.

“We are very excited about this partnership, as it will significantly expand our brand positioning and it will help us to market our comprehensive solutions portfolio to all customer segments globally. With Manchester United and TeamViewer, two global winning teams join forces: Together as Team United we can bring the fan experience in the legendary Theatre of Dreams to a new level. We are extremely proud Manchester United picked us as partner in their ongoing technology journey, ” added TeamViewer Chief Executive Officer Oliver Steil in the same release.

Financial terms of the TeamViewer sponsorship deal were not disclosed by the club; however, The Independent reports it is worth a total of ₤235 million ($326 million US) over five years, or ₤47 million ($65.2 million) per year. Manchester United signed its sponsorship deal with Chevrolet in 2012, and The Independent also reports that deal was worth ₤64 million ($88.76 million US) per year. It was set to expire in December 2021 after being extended six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manchester United also has a deal with American plumbing fixture manufacturer Kohler for advertising space on the sleeves of their jerseys. That deal was signed in July 2018 and is reportedly worth ₤20 million ($27.7 million US) per year.

Manchester United have a totaLeagues0 Premier League and English First Division titles, 12 FA Cups, and have won the UEFA Champions League three times.
