Bets from Australia and Holland this weekend.
Perth Glory v Adelaide Utd – Saturday 11: 00, BT Sport 2
Both these sides are yet to solve their defensive issues from last season as Perth are now without a clean sheet in 10, whilst it’s nine without a shut-out for Adelaide. Perth are generally a very strong side at home as they’ve gone W9-D3-L3 at the nib Stadium since the start of last season, though seven of these victories came despite conceding as they’ve managed just two clean sheets there in that time. Adelaide have picked up four points from trips to struggling Wellington and Brisbane, but they lost eight of 13 on their travels last term, including a 3-1 defeat in this fixture. We expect to see something similar here as Adelaide have managed to net in five of their last seven on their travels. We’re backing a home win and both teams to score. PertBatsn & BTTS – 1pt @ 3.6
Ajax v FC Utrecht – Sunday 13: 30, Sky Sports
Ajax made it four straight wins with their 3-1 victory at Willem, meaning they’ve netted 15 goals across their current winning run. They’ve won 17 of their last 19 at the JoArena, andff Arena and they come up against a Utrecht side that have picked up just one point from their last four on their travels, whilst they lost all of their trips to the Big Three last term. They’ve been hammered 7-1 at home by PSV already this term and with Ajax in such excellent scoring form, they could well be in for another heavy defeat here – we’re backing Marcel Keizer’s men to cover the -2 handicap, as they have
in five of their last seven at home. Ajax -2 – 1pt @ 2.88
PSV v Twente – Sunday 15: 45, Sky Sports
PSV maintained their five point lead at the top with their 4-2 win over Vitesse, and they should have no problems here as they host a Twente side that have lost all five of their road games whilst scoring just two goals. PSV have kept a clean sheet in their last four at home whilst Twente also lost and failed to score at two of the Big Three last term, despite being a much better side then. They do at least tend to keep things pretty tight, only losing two of their 22 road games since the start of last season by more than two goals. The 2-0 correct score is certainly of interest, but the home win to nil looks a banker.
PSV Win to Nil – 1pt @ 2.4
